Anticipated Impacts
Local: Transient

Of course this is a fairly large project, the construction of which is bound to be messy in parts, and for a time. However, one would naturally take steps to reduce the disruption to a minimum:

Road Traffic: Road traffic will be maintained except for minor interruptions when changing from existing to provisional, and then permanent routes at both the Georgia Portal and Marine Circus. In addition, although much construction activity will be marine based, one can anticipate that a fair amount of additional traffic will be generated by the project.

Harbour Traffic: Construction over the navigation channel which might be considered a hazard will be scheduled for off-peak hours, resulting in a minimum of disruption.

Stanley Park: Construction work in Stanley Park will be largely limited to the immediate vicinity of the South Tower and Anchor, and although the Sea Wall will be affected, temporary routes will be provided.

Georgia Portal / Lost Lagoon: Considerable disruption must be anticipated during tunnel excavation, but pedestrian routes around the lagoon, and access to the park, will be provided at all times.

North Shore: Although as many of the necessary construction base facilities as possible will be housed off-shore on barges &c, some will no doubt end up on land, starting with the space available below the existing viaduct. This will be disruptive, but this is probably the least sensitive area of the site.
