Capilano Quay

Located at the base of the North Tower of the bridge, and extending along the railway on the immediate north shore of Burrard Inlent, Capilano Quay illustrates the recovery of hitherto neglected land for civic use, while maintaining the infrastructure necessary in any metropolitan area.

At the North Tower an island will be created housing community amenities, as well as large scale recreational facilities serving both the community and a regional market. In addition, of course, residential units and commercial space will take advantage of the fine location and contribute to the creation of a true community centre.

Along the railway alignment, the air rights will be used to gradually extend a linear development potentially linking the project to Park Royal in the west, and, in the long term, the central areas of North Vancouver in the east. With a waterfront location and easy access over the current rail yards this development, including residential, commercial, and industrial space as well as a full range of public amenities, will result in a major improvement in the urban environment, with a minimum impact on Environment Canada lands.
